When the Going Gets Tough, the Tough Go Green

Products We Like

Here are eco-friendly products we tried and liked. Give 'em a shot!

Note: We removed Sigg from this list on 2/14 after allegations that it contains BPA. Try this site for a resuable, BPA-free water bottle!

Brita Water Pitcher

What is it? A water pitcher that filters tap water. Bottled water is often bottled tap water anyway, and this ensures such tap water is safe.

Why is it good for the environment?  Drinking tap water instead of bottled water conserves plastic as well as the energy it takes to bottle such water.

Where can I find it? This site has store locations. Locations include A&P, CVS, Target, and more.

Vegetarian/Vegan Products

What is it? Substitutes for meat and dairy products that taste identical or even better.

Why is it good for the environment? The packaging and transporting of meat makes up 18% of greenhouse gases. Cutting meat out of your diet is a huge step for reducing carbon dioxide emissions.

Where can I get it? Any supermarket.

BOCA BURGERS: Veggie burgers that come in different flavors, even All American Flame Grilled! We recommend Bruschetta burgers. Yum.

SILK MILK: Soy milk that also comes in different flavors. We recommend chocolate soy milk--the chocolate disguises the fact that it's soy.

TOFU/TEMPEH: Sort of obvious. It can replace meat in many different situations. Also, it takes the taste of whatever you cook it in, so you don't have to worry about the taste. Click the link for tofu and tempeh recipes!

Sistema Products

What are they? Products such as containers for lunch or reusable water bottles.

Why are they good for the environment? Using products such as sustainable containers for lunch instead of disposable bags or reusable water bottles instead of plastic bottles makes you waste less. Also, everything is BPA-free, for your health and safety.

Where can I find them? The Container Store or by visiting this site.

Kejriwal Stationery

What is it? Paper and paper products made from alternative fibers and/or post-consumer waste.

Why is it good for the environment? Instead of cutting down trees and harming the environment (and putting more CO2 in the air), this uses recycled goods or agriwaste, putting good use to what would be just thrown out.

Where can I find it? Your local office good store (we've also seen it in grocery stores!). Look at this site for more information.

NOTE: If you cannot find Kejriwal Stationery, almost all office chain stores like Staples and Office Depot offer 100% recycled paper at their stores. Try it out!
